7 Days Itinerary

Day 1

Day 1 : Venice, St. Mark and Marina Santelena

Arrival and private pick up by boat, at the airport, railway station, or car park. After the settling into your cabins, around 2 pm, the afternoon might be free for walking in Venice. San Marco square is two kilometres from the harbour, 30 minutes walking. Or, if you prefer, we could teach you how to row in the Venetian style, on our wooden boat. The evening starts with a welcome drink on board our yacht in the marina. Then we will sail for our first cruise through the San Marco basin and Giudecca canal, with a four-course dinner on board.

Day 2

Day 2 :Venice, Giudecca, Dorsoduro and Cannaregio: hidden monuments and gardens

We cruise along the southern edge of Venice and enter the city from the southern lagoon, as did the fleets of galleys doing their trade in the Mediterranean throughout history. The welcoming Giudecca island reveals itself as the cradle of remarkably diverse heritage, from the Renaissance churches to the living medieval settlement, from the industrial archaeology to gardens and orchards. Then we moor at Zattere waterfront, to visit one of the last operating gondola boatyards, the squero of San Trovaso, and arrive at our preferred restaurant in Venice, Riviera. Then we guide you on a walk through to some of the most beautiful monuments of Venice, the Scuola di San Rocco and church of Frari, with their gems of Renaissance painting. Or, if you prefer, we may sail after lunch to
the Sestriere of Cannaregio, and visit the Ghetto area with its museum, or the Canaletto house and the enchanting Campo dei Mori. Then we will return to our yacht to enjoy dinner as the sun sets.

Day 3

Day 3 : The Central lagoon, Murano and Sant’Erasmo: typical products, vegetable gardens, and a secret beach

We cruise to Murano, the well-known town, where the Repubblica della Serenissima concentrated its glass factories, most of them still producing unique art masterpieces. We will visit our favourite trendy factory.
After lunch in a typical restaurant with a terrace on the Gran Canal of Murano we sail to the Island of Sant’Erasmo. This is the historical vegetable garden of the city, and still supplies, but also the crucial part of the defensive military system, with its fortresses. A walking tour will discover the Torre Massimiliano, dominating the Lido mouth, the vineyard and local agricultural productions, within sight of the Lazzaretto Nuovo, the first quarantine island in the world.
Dinner is on board sailing back, through the wonderful islands of Vignole and Certosa, passing the island-beach of Bacan, where Venetians love to bathe, as you may do if you wish.

Day 4

Day 4 : the Brenta canal, Mira and Dolo: renaissance v i l l a s , historic towns and agricultural landscapes

We sail early through Venice westbound towards the Brenta Canal, the historic water connection to the rich mainland. The canalised river winds through the fertile countryside landscape, with its necklace of splendid Renaissance villas, under swing bridges and through historical locks. We visit the magnificent Palladian Villa Foscari before having lunch in a typical restaurant.
After lunch we continue the cruise along the Brenta canal visiting the villa Widmann, to admire the frescoes and the gardens, or the villa Fattoretto where the former owner Luigino collected a unique private Museum of Villains, with a collection of original furniture of the master villa, and of working tools used in agriculture and wine-making. We have dinner on board cruising through the southern lagoon to the marina of Chioggia.

Day 5

Day 5 : Pellestrina and Chioggia: fishing villages, sand dunes, and wild beaches

We visit Chioggia, the second biggest town in the lagoon after Venice, with a historical landscape of palaces and bridges, and the unique fish market in the north Adriatic Italian coast. We have lunch in the restaurant at Pellestrina, on the long dune that separates the lagoon from the sea.
After lunch we explore its beaches of fine sand, and we visit the little museum dedicated to the environment and the fishery in San Pietro in Volta. Or we sail on a competition catamaran, to experience its exhilarating speed and the fresh sea breeze. Then we sail past Lido, enjoying dinner on board and reaching our marina at Sant’Elena.

Day 6

Day 6: The north lagoon, San Francesco nel Deserto, Torcello and Burano:
the core of the Venetian history

The heart of the Venetian civilization is the north lagoon archipelago, that developed from the Roman city of Altino to the late-medieval town of Torcello, and then to Rialto and San Marco. We sail to the magic and peaceful convent Island of San Francesco nel Deserto, where the Saint understandably found unique inspiration in the 13th century. We arrive at Mazzorbo for lunch in the Venissa walled vineyard. In the afternoon, we visit Torcello with its magnificent basilica, the only remains of a settlement that once rivalled with San Marco. Or the picturesque fishing village of Burano, with his multi-coloured façades, and its ancestral activities of fishing and lace-making. You will stay overnight in the Marina Fiorita at Treporti, after dinner on board enjoying the unique sunset over the northern lagoon.

Day 7

Day 7 : The north lagoon, Treporti, Lio Piccolo and the Arsenale: from nature to culture, the essence of Venice

During a walking or biking tour from our Treporti marina, we visit the fish valley and natural area of Lio Piccolo, with its characteristic village. From its tower, we admire the unspoilt lagoon landscape and sometimes swarms of pink flamingoes.
After lunch in the typical farmhouse, we cruise back to Venice, crossing all the northern lagoon. We visit from the water the Arsenale shipyard, the first and biggest proto-industry of the world; here were built the galleys that made Venice invincible and wealthy. Dinner on the terrace of our yacht will conclude the day, and our cruise.
